National Coalition of 100 Black Women
As part of Days of Beauty 2023, Dollar General continues to support education and health programs for Black girls and women by donating $10,000 to the National coalition of 100 Black Women.
The funding received from Dollar General was used to support the NCBW Chapters’ initiatives of Mentoring and STEAM. Chapters provide programs and opportunities for their mentees within STEAM. Some chapters work with local schools and agencies to expose their mentees, others have members that provide activities that expose mentees to hands-on applications such as using drones, etc.
Thanks to Dollar General in 2022, NCBW was able to increase the number of mentees that participated in the ECC beginner’s class and was able to add an intermediate class.
